Parent Governors’ Election

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who have stood as candidates in our recent parent governor election and to those of you who took the time to vote.

It is never easy putting yourself forward to be voted in by your peers, and I really appreciate that so many parents did so. I hope you will all continue to support us in this and other ways as it is vital that parents have a voice. Governors are the unsung heroes of schools and help to ensure that they run smoothly. Parent governors are particularly important as they see aspects of the day to day running of the school and often bring a different perspective of schools to other governors.

So, it is with great pleasure that I can announce Ella Daniella Mira, parent of a child in our nursery and Victoria Pepper, parent of a child in Reception , as our new parent governors. They will join Alex McCloy, a parent of a Year 4 child, on our board of governors. Not only did we have a record number of parents standing for election, we also had the most votes that we have ever received.

Please enjoy the last week of this very busy and strange half-term. There have been lots of challenges and COVID related rules to complicate matters, but it has also been full of lots of smiles, laughter and fun. It really is a privilege to work with the families and children of Bede – you are the best!

Yours sincerely,
