As some of you already know, Mr Salmon plays football semi-professionally. So far, his team is doing quite well this season. Not necessarily because they have the best players, but because they all work together as a team. They work tirelessly for each other. They help each other defend. They help each other attack. They all follow the same plan and tactics with the same target in mind. That is what being part of a team is about – team work helps everyone to do well.

Mr Salmon plays for a team called Ashington AFC. Ashington is a small town in Northumberland, which has a lot of history with sport. Ashington AFC are in the Northumberland Senior Cup and have been drawn against Newcastle United U23 in the quarter-finals. This is going to be a tough match but if Mr Salmon’s team work well together, then they have every possibility of beating  Newcastle United.

Here is a video of Mr Salmon scoring an over-head kick in a recent match, against “top of the league” Consett. The match finished 3-3 with the help of Mr Salmon’s goal and the terrific team-work of the whole squad.

Don’t forget to wish Mr Salmon luck – remember those kind words can be a great support in themselves!
