Have you ever imagined what thousands of lights would look like around some of our amazing natural spaces when in the dark?

Well, between April and September 2022, Green Space Dark Skies wanted people to have the chance to imagine it, see it and even be it.

They invited thousands of people from all walks of life to be part of and experience stunning landscapes around the UK once night fell and the skies were dark.

The series of large-scale events praised nature, talked about our duty to preserve it, and made clear everyone’s freedom to travel across the countryside through our wonderful natural spaces.

In the chosen spaces, they set up wonderful, unforgettable light installations using low-impact lighting for people to be immersed in.  Think about the patterns that thousands of lights would create on hills, lakes, and moors of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.  What  amazing art that  would be, don’t you think?

You can see all of the videos by following the link below.  If you’re really keen, you can learn more about it by watching the special BBC Countryfile episode that featured a four peaks finale.  It was aired on BBC One at 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, October 30.

Anybody is welcome to visit these locations at any time for no cost. Why don’t you  get  out in the open and see some of these beautiful places for yourself.  Even without any lighting they  are magnificent!
