We did a lot of thinking during Children’s Mental Health Week about being brave enough to express yourself as who you really are and not feeling pressured by other people.  We talked about how people can look, speak, act differently to us, but that we should always be respectful to people and to feel proud of who we are ourselves.  We were reminded that our behaviour, words and actions can really affect how someone feels about themselves.

On Friday, we held a Dress to Express Day, where everyone came to school in clothes that make them feel happy. Some people dressed up in costumes, some wore colours they like, others wore comfy pyjamas or joggers and someone even came dressed as a chocolate bar!

Being happy being you is so important.  If someone makes you feel bad about yourself in any way, tell an adult you trust immediately so that they can help you sort it out.
