Kenard Pak is an author, illustrator and animator from San Francisco, USA. He is best known for his beautiful, yet unusual stories and illustrations. His published books include, ‘Have You Heard The Nesting Bird?’, ‘The Dinner That Cooked Itself’, ‘The Fog’, and ‘The Hundred-Year Barn’.

Starting out as an artist, Kenard worked as an animator for Walt Disney and Dreamworks. He created artwork for the movies, Peabody and Sherman and Madagascar 3!

Readers appreciate the simplicity of his text, diverse cast of characters, and use of colour throughout his books. The idea behind many of his stories is to expose the reader to a range of cultures and ethnicities. He has even written a book called, ‘How to Say I Love You in 5 Languages!’

When interviewed by ‘Nobrow Press’, Kenard Pak was questioned on the inspiration behind his work. He said, “Memories of nature, friends, family and random quiet moments inspire me. The work of fellow illustrators is always inspiring and artists like M. Sasek, Richard Scarry, Roger Duvoisin and Adrienne Adams. And my wife.”
