Welcome to Bede CPS
As headteacher, I would like to say a very warm hello to anyone visiting our website, on behalf of the children, staff, myself and the governing body. We are all extremely proud of our school and are sure that you will see why as you browse through the webpages here.
We are a constantly evolving school, always striving for the best for our children, families and staff, and always making sure that we provide a happy and positive environment where everyone feels able to fulfil their potential in all areas. Personal development is at the heart of our school, and each child and adult is seen as a valued individual with much to give to the world.
Looking After Ourselves and Each Other (Physical and Mental Well-Being)
Supporting the children and families at Bede to look after their well- being has always been important to us. We recognize that to do well, you have to feel well, and so we want to provide an education that helps our children to understand themselves and how they can make good choices about both their physical and mental health. When you click on the Discover More button, you will find 8 sections with information regarding different elements of keeping healthy in mind and body . We will add to these regularly and hope that you will find them useful .
You will also find a survey – Let Us know How You Are Feeling – which the children can complete as many times as they wish (no more than daily) . We will use the answers to help us gauge how our children are doing and where we might need to address certain issues within year groups, the whole school or with individuals. It is a way for the children to always have an open link to let us know how they are feeling about what is going on in the world around them and for us to then be able to help them make sense of it and acquire the skills and abilities be able to deal with it. This can be done anonymously if they prefer. We hope that everyone will use it at least once a week. Class teachers will base much of their PSHE discussion time around the input that we get from the surveys to make sure that we are always addressing the children’s most current needs.
