Around Our World

This half term, Reception have loved exploring different places, people and cultures from around the world. They have investigated clothing from a range of cultures, sampled delicious foods from different countries, practised map-making, and learned about animals, where they live and their features. They also compared homes from around the world, explored a variety of musical styles and even learned dances to new songs.

Alongside this, the children have been developing their mathematical skills through ordering numbers, counting quantities and subitising parts within larger amounts. They were also very excited to be introduced to the fantastic number games on DreamBox Maths.

As always, they have continued building their knowledge of letters and sounds and have been applying these skills in their reading and writing.

After such a busy and productive half term, they are certainly ready for a well-earned rest next week!
